Overview: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Associate Producer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working closely with high-level talent and the Sr. Director of Video Production to develop show outlines, run recording sessions, and oversee the entire production process for multiple shows. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, creative vision, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment. The Associate Producer will play a key role in shaping the direction of our content, ensuring that it aligns with our brand’s voice and standards.

Essential Functions:

Associate Producer:

Help to assist Producers with production tasks, including: 

  • crafting and finalizing episodes in post-production
  • co-running recording sessions with high profile talent (proficiency with audio and video recording equipment is preferred)
  • Help to maintain spreadsheets and documents related to each individual show, keeping them up to date
  • Working cross-functionally with social media, marketing, editing, and creative teams to ensure our content is best in class 
  • Helping to create assets for shows, including (but not limited to): graphics, photos (related to actual true crime cases), news clips
  • QCing final episodes to ensure the quality is elevated and to PAVE's high standards

Utilize Adobe Suite, Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, or other editing software to edit and produce high-quality audio content a plus. 

Proficiency in video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and other programs is a plus. 

An in-depth knowledge and passion for video podcasts and YouTube

Proficiency in PhotoShop is a plus. 

Show Production:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lifestyle and true crime trends to inform content creation.
  • Help to ensure the final delivery of content, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Create and maintain production documents, spreadsheets, and other organizational tools in Google Suite.
  • Work collaboratively within a startup culture, thriving in a fast-paced environment where creativity, flexibility, and quick thinking are essential.
  • Record talent in sessions, making sure all audio and video technical is up to PAVE standards.
  • Engage in content creation using programs like Canva or Adobe Express.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ensure all technical and physical aspects of production are handled efficiently, including setup and teardown of recording equipment.
  • Handle challenging and sensitive subjects with professionalism and care, especially within the true crime genre.

Prerequisite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree, required. 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, or similar editing software. 
  • Video editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro is highly desirable.
  • Experience with in-studio audio recording and video recording expertise is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and format show outlines from concept to final script.
  • Passion for wellness and/or true crime content.
  • Experience in working with varying levels of talent, from emerging creators to well-known public figures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a collaborative approach, comfortable leading projects and taking creative risks.
  • Experience with content creation and editing tools like Canva or Adobe Express.
  • Ability to manage and process difficult topics with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Passion for media, entertainment, and content creation.
  • Ability to work cross functionally with other departments, including Marketing, Social, Partnerships, and more.

  • Ability to work and communicate well with other employees, management, individuals well-known to the public, creators, and studios.
  • Ability to perform work utilizing manual dexterity of the hands.
  • Ability to reach above and below shoulders, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, climb, kneel, push and/or pull, and twist.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in the Los Angeles PAVE Studios office environment on a full-time basis, with some night and weekend work, as required. 
  • Ability to effectively manage and process challenging and sensitive subjects, including difficult and dark topics.
  • Correctable vision and hearing.
