We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled
Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Biomarker & Target Sciences group located at our South San Francisco site, where the group focuses on imaging biomarker development in in-vivo animal models of human diseases using multi-modality imaging techniques (e.g. Ultrasound, Photoacoustic, Optical/CT, and MRI), in order to support translational imaging studies for Discovery Biology and Discovery Biologics Protein Science. Responsibilities: 1. Conduct research and develop novel imaging techniques.
2. Contribute to synthesis and characterization of novel contrast agents for imaging to diagnose and treat diseases that affect large populations worldwide.
3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including chemists, biologists, physicists, and engineers, to optimize imaging protocols and enhance imaging capabilities.
4. Characterize and analyze imaging agents using various analytical techniques, such as NMR, mass spectrometry, and spectroscopic methods.
5. Apply preclinical imaging techniques, such as MRI, CT, or optical imaging, to investigate specific research questions and contribute to ongoing projects.
6. Lead authorship and publication of research findings in high-impact scientific journals and present research outcomes at conferences or seminars.
7. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in imaging technologies, contrast agent design, and related fields through literature review and active participation in scientific discussions.
Minimum education required: Candidates must currently hold a Ph.D. or receive a Ph.D. within 1 year in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Focus on imaging, contrast agent development, or related areas will be a plus. .
Required experience and skills: - Knowledge of synthetic chemistry, such as synthesis of nanoparticles or small molecules.
- Experience with in vitro and in vivo evaluation of imaging agents, including biodistribution studies and target specificity assessments.
- Track record of scientific achievements, demonstrated through high-quality publications and/or presentations at scientific conferences.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to design and execute experiments independently.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
Preferred experience and skills: Any of the following will be a plus:
- Knowledge of conjugation chemistry for the attachment of imaging probes to nanoparticles or peptides.
- Knowledge of preclinical imaging or multi-modality imaging.
- Ability to characterize and analyze contrast agents using analytical techniques such as NMR, mass spectrometry, and spectroscopy.
- Familiarity with data analysis and image processing techniques related to imaging biomarkers.
- Experience in interdisciplinary research, collaboration, or mentoring.

Under New York City, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected salary range:
$75,000.00-$86,000.00
