  • Adams & Martin Group
  • San Francisco County, CA

Job Description

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Flexible with work location: hybrid or remote arrangements considered; must be within commuting distance of one of the firm's California offices (San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Irvine).
  • Big Law work without Big Law burnout: handle complex class action and PAGA litigation in a more balanced, lifestyle-conscious environment.
  • Strong demand and immediate need: position open due to growth and recent transitions; work is readily available.
  • Collaborative and inclusive culture: internal committees such as DEI, Training, Blog, Rewards, and others; mentorship is built into the onboarding process.
  • Lifestyle-friendly and casual: competes with top employment firms in legal scope while maintaining a family-oriented, approachable work environment.
  • Engaged and transparent leadership: attorneys enjoy regular team meetings, active mentorship, and participation in the annual attorney retreat.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Defend wage and hour class actions and PAGA claims from inception through resolution.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement documents.
  • Take and defend depositions, conduct exposure analyses, and participate in mediations.
  • Advise clients directly on legal strategy and case management.
  • Opportunities available for speaking engagements and publishing in the employment law space.

What We're Looking For

  • 2-7 years of California wage and hour class action defense experience.
  • Strong litigation skills, including drafting, oral argument, and strategic case handling.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the California Bar.
  • Bilingual capabilities are a plus.

What You'll Receive

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $150,000 to $215,000, depending on experience. Higher compensation may be considered for the right candidate.
  • Twice-yearly bonuses based on hours billed over target; annual discretionary bonus potential.
  • Flexible billable hours target, typically averaging 1800, with some attorneys ranging from 1500 to 1900.
  • Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, FSA, life insurance, disability coverage, EAP, and telemedicine services.
  • 401(k) with profit-sharing in profitable years.
  • Paid holidays, PTO, and paid parental leave.
  • Business casual dress code and office parking in most locations.

Who Should Apply

  • Attorneys seeking challenging, high-quality work without sacrificing work-life balance.
  • Professionals who value mentorship, growth opportunities, and collaborative team dynamics.
  • Candidates looking to make a long-term move to a well-regarded firm with a strong California client base and a supportive internal culture.
