Job Overview

The Elevator Technician will build and troubleshoot elevator simulators.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work with technicians to build and trouble shoot elevator simulators
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems on circuit boards to the component level
  • Understand and utilize elevator simulators to test boards and ensure repairs meet specifications
  • Troubleshoots and repairs or corrects problems, which may include repairs and revisions to hardware (disassembly and reassembly equipment) and software (investigation of programming code for mistakes).
  • Uses tools such as electronic voltmeters and oscilloscopes to test the performance of circuit boards or assemblies, documents procedures and test results.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine the layout of system components, frameworks, and foundations, and to select installation equipment.
  • Review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of electric circuit design.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Ability to trouble shoot to the component level
  • Thorough understanding of diagnostic and repair tools including oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Ability to read blueprints and electronics schematics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Elevator Technician Certification required
  • Must be a licensed elevator repair technician
  • At least ten years of elevator repair experience required
  • Vocational or associate's degree in Electronics preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on components.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
