Job Description

24 Seven is partnering with a top global sportswear client to help them find a Merchandise Planner for this hybrid position in Portland, OR. This is a 3 month contract with potential to extend working 4 days a week onsite. While on contract, you'd be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, and more.

Ideal Candidate : will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least five years of directly relevant experience, with strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, and a solid background in the retail industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive financial results that optimize sales, inventory, and gross margin profitability at both SKU and category levels.
  • Manage the financial performance of assigned product categories by aligning with strategic objectives.
  • Develop clear, seasonal merchandise plans that tell a compelling story and support consumer-centric, profitable assortments.
  • Recap and analyze actual sales against plan and forecast in-season sales and inventory needs.
  • Partner with retail counterparts to manage sales and inventory plans that maximize profitability for both the company and retailer.
  • Monitor and report on business performance to inform data-driven decision-making.
  • Identify and drive process improvements across the planning function.
  • Support consistency in planning processes through standardized documentation and implementation.
  • Provide key retailer information to assist the account team throughout the go-to-market process.
  • Collaborate with the account team to align product assortments with retailer sales, margin, and turn goals.
  • Deliver current and historical sales data to inform assortment planning by location cluster, gender, category, and class.
  • Evaluate retailer assortment needs in relation to brand and category objectives, identifying and communicating opportunities and risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field
  • 5 years directly relevant work experience
  • Skilled in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience in the retail industry
