A dynamic, NextGen-led law firm in Northern New Jersey is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Partner to join its respected and growing practice. With a strong presence across both New Jersey and New York, the firm advises mid-sized to large corporate clients on sophisticated and complex management-side labor and employment matters. The team is composed of subject matter experts who are service-driven, collaborative, and highly respected in their fields. The ideal candidate will bring 7 to 10+ years of experience advising management-side clients on a wide range of employment law issues, including workplace policy development, disciplinary and termination decisions, employee leave and accommodation requests, wage and hour compliance, reductions in force, and workplace investigations. Experience handling administrative agency matters before the EEOC, DOL, NJDCR, and NYSDHR is also essential. The role involves providing day-to-day guidance to HR executives and in-house counsel, drafting and negotiating employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and separation agreements, and contributing to pre-litigation dispute resolution efforts. While litigation experience is helpful, this role is centered on strategic counseling and preventative compliance.
Candidates must be admitted in New Jersey, with New York admission strongly preferred. A successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills, sound business judgment, and a practical, solutions-oriented approach to client service. A portable book of business is welcome but not required, and the firm is open to high-performing individuals with strong client relationships and an interest in growing their platform within a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
