Injection Molding Process Technician – UP TO $35.00 AN HOUR - ALL SHIFTS AVAILABLE!

Position Summary:

The Injection Molding Process Technician supports the efficient operation of injection molding equipment, ensuring compliance with quality, productivity, waste reduction, cost efficiency, housekeeping, and safety objectives in alignment with established procedures and Best Manufacturing Practices. The technician is responsible for adhering to standardized process guides, documenting tool maintenance and repairs, and maintaining an inventory of spare die components. This role plays a key part in upholding product quality standards and ensuring the timely delivery of assembly components to internal stakeholders. The position requires working independently with limited supervision while fostering effective collaboration across shifts and with departments including mold repair, quality control, assembly, and management to achieve departmental goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve processing issues with injection molding machines.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintain an orderly work area within the molding department.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, environmental procedures, and Best Manufacturing Practices.
  • Perform setup and startup procedures for molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Communicate product and quality-related information effectively to Operators, Inspectors, Supervisors, and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.
  • Accurately document and report production waste; assist supervision in inventory management.
  • Identify tooling issues and perform minor repairs, as necessary.
  • Conduct first-shot inspections and ensure readiness of jobs for production.
  • Troubleshoot electrical components related to dies and barrel heating systems as needed.
  • Mix plastic resins with colorants and additives; perform material handling and provide operator relief during breaks.
  • Monitor and verify machine cycles and cavitation performance.
  • Identify inefficiencies in the process and work to minimize production downtime.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment; promptly report any safety hazards.
  • Safely operate a forklift for the transportation of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Support production by transporting materials to and from the molding area as needed.
  • Respond to operator, machine, or equipment alarms and perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in injection molding or related technical field.
  • Physical ability to perform medium-duty work: regularly lifting up to 50 pounds and frequently moving objects up to 10 pounds.
  • Must be capable of bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, and working on uneven surfaces; able to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • The ability to visually identify defects in molded products per the defined specifications and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; must be able to read, write, and effectively communicate.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Must meet the minimum required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform all job duties proficiently.
