⚖️ Immigration Litigation Associate Attorney (Manassas, VA)
📍 Manassas, Virginia
🕒 Full-Time | In-Person Court & Interview Representation Required
💼 Removal Defense, Asylum, Waivers, and USCIS Interviews
We are a high-impact immigration law firm based in Manassas, Virginia. Our primary clients are immigrants from Central America and Mexico — and our mission is simple but critical: fight for those facing deportation, detention, and family separation.
We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our team and take on a litigation-heavy caseload in removal defense, asylum, and related immigration matters. This is not a clock-in, clock-out desk job — it requires real courtroom presence, empathy, resilience, and the grit to show up early to asylum interviews when our clients need us most.
Must live within commutable distance to office in Manasas, VA and able to travel to USCIS and Immigration Courts in the DMV.
🏛️ Why This Role Matters
We don’t need someone just to fill a seat. Our clients are often fleeing violence, facing detention, or being separated from their children. The work you do here will literally help people stay in the U.S. and rebuild their lives.
You will have the chance to:
- Represent immigrants in high-stakes litigation before EOIR, USCIS, and asylum offices
- Make compelling legal arguments that change lives and shape law
- Take ownership of your cases with the guidance and mentorship of senior attorney
- Gain courtroom confidence and sharpen your litigation instincts
We practice with integrity, intensity, and empathy — and we expect the same from every member of our team.
🏢 About the Role
You will:
- Represent immigrants in proceedings before EOIR (immigration court), USCIS, and the asylum office
- Prepare clients and appear at master calendar and individual hearings
- Conduct legal research and draft briefs, motions, and supporting documentation
- Handle bond hearings, reasonable fear interviews, and credible fear cases
- Argue cancellation of removal, asylum, adjustment of status, and waivers
- Collaborate closely with a support team of experienced paralegals and assistants
This role comes with training, mentoring, and supervision from the firm's senior attorney and leadership. You're never left to sink or swim — but we do expect you to rise.
💼 Who We’re Looking For
- Licensed to practice law in Virginia and/or fluent in Spanish (ideally both)
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Able to manage a demanding caseload and courtroom calendar
- Comfortable with evolving systems and giving feedback to improve operations
- Professional, compassionate, and dependable
- Thick-skinned enough to receive direct feedback, and grow from it
If you’re a go-getter who finds purpose in service and can push yourself toward excellence (even when it’s uncomfortable), you’ll thrive here.
✨ The Right Fit
This position requires resilience and grit. Immigration law can be emotional and urgent. If you need a highly structured, low-pressure environment or prefer a slow pace, this won’t be the right fit. But if you have the drive to learn, serve, and improve every day, we’d love to work with you.
We hold ourselves (and each other) to a higher standard. We are not a volume-based, rubber-stamp law firm. We work closely with our clients and demand excellence from ourselves on their behalf.
We want someone who doesn’t just point out problems — but also helps us fix them. If you see a better way to do something (a template, a system, a workflow), we want you to think critically, speak up, and help implement solutions. If that kind of initiative excites you, you’ll be at home here. If not, this won’t be the right fit.
🎁 Benefits & Perks
- $90 - 105K based on experience
- Bonuses based on results and performance
- Platinum-tier medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 10 paid vacation days per year, with increases based on tenure
- ½ day/month paid flex time for personal or admin needs
- 9 paid federal holidays
Plus the extras:
- Surprise bonus days off & rewards for great work
- $75/month health & wellness stipend — use it toward gym memberships, fitness classes, or mental health support
- You’ll grow fast — building courtroom confidence, legal precision, and sharp advocacy skills
- You’ll leave this role more respected, more skilled, and more marketable than 90% of your peers
⚡ Our Mindset
We live by ABI: Always Be Improving. If there’s a better way to serve clients, manage cases, or operate as a team, we pursue it. We don’t do "rinse and repeat."
We value intellectual curiosity and initiative. We want team members who are driven to make systems smarter, faster, and better — and who are willing to do the work to get us there.
We also value honesty and integrity. If something goes wrong, we want people who will own it, not hide it. If you make a mistake, you say it, fix it, and learn from it. That’s how we grow. We have no room for dishonesty or deflection.
We believe everyone who works here should grow into a sharper thinker, stronger writer, and more confident advocate than when they arrived. Our past team members have gone on to top jobs because they were battle-tested and professionally sculpted during their time here.
If you want to be surrounded by high standards and great people — and if you want to walk away from this role transformed — apply now.
