Job Description

Title: Executive Director-Full time

Compensation Range : $110,000 - $120,000

Location : Oxnard College, Oxnard, CA

The Executive Director plays a key leadership role in shaping the future of the Community Market at Oxnard College by developing and driving a strategic plan that ensures its long-term success and impact. This dynamic position involves cultivating strong relationships with major donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and both public and private grant makers to secure critical funding in support of the College and Foundation’s shared mission. The Executive Director will also serve as the vital link between the Foundation Board of Directors and the College, fostering collaboration and alignment to advance community and institutional goals.

What You’ll Do:

· Oversee daily Foundation operations, safeguarding donor intent, managing endowments, and ensuring all activities align with Board directives.

· Design and execute a comprehensive annual fundraising strategy, including major gifts, grants, and corporate sponsorships, with an action plan approved by the Board.

· Develop and monitor a balanced annual budget and a long-term sustainability plan, providing regular financial and strategic updates to the Board.

· Drive resource development and strategic marketing while successfully operating the Community Market to support the College’s mission.

· Cultivate and steward donor relationships, serving as the Foundation’s primary spokesperson at events and in the community.

· Act as the liaison to the Board of Directors, planning meetings, reporting progress, and ensuring strong governance practices.

· Recruit, lead, and develop staff, volunteers, and Board members while maintaining all documentation and compliance requirements.

What You’ll Need to Succeed :

· Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred, with focus in business, marketing, financial planning, public administration, nonprofit management, or related fields.

· Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in one or more of the following: fundraising/resource development, marketing, donor/community relations, and nonprofit or foundation management.

· Proven success in nonprofit leadership, with experience reporting to or working closely with a Board of Directors.

· Demonstrated experience in developing and managing budgets, financial forecasting, and producing financial reports.

· Skilled in leading and mentoring staff and volunteers, including recruitment and performance management.

· Background in event planning and execution, particularly fundraising events or community programs.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

· Experience working with and serving diverse populations and community stakeholders.

· Strong strategic planning and organizational skills, with the ability to translate vision into action.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grant writing, public speaking, and donor correspondence.

· Marketing and branding awareness, especially in nonprofit storytelling and community outreach.

· Solid understanding of fundraising best practices, donor databases/CRMs, and grant application processes.

· Collaborative leadership style with a high degree of emotional intelligence and diplomacy.

· High level of integrity, discretion, and ethical decision-making, especially when managing donor intent and Foundation funds.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, budgeting software, and CRM/fundraising platforms (e.g., DonorPerfect, Bloomerang, or similar).
