A mid-sized, full-service law firm with a strong presence in New York City is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Attorney to join its litigation practice. The firm is known for its robust commercial litigation work and regularly represents businesses, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals in complex disputes across a range of industries.

Position Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney to handle high-stakes commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration forums. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage litigation cases from inception through resolution and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle a full caseload of commercial litigation matters with minimal supervision.
• Draft pleadings, discovery demands and responses, dispositive motions, and legal briefs.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
• Represent clients at court hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials.
• Engage in settlement negotiations and mediations.
• Maintain proactive and professional communication with clients.
• Work closely with colleagues on litigation teams to deliver effective representation.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active and good standing membership with the New York State Bar.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial litigation.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a legal team.

Preferred Experience

• Experience handling disputes involving business contracts, partnership agreements, real estate, intellectual property, employment, and shareholder rights.
• Background in white-collar defense, regulatory matters, or arbitration is a plus.
• Familiarity with alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods.
