Job Description

Position Overview:

We are actively seeking a dedicated Benefits Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity . This role will start as a 3-6 month contract at $30/hour , with the potential to transition into a permanent position. While on contract, employees are eligible for benefits through our agency , including medical, dental, and vision coverage. Upon conversion, a competitive annual salary will be offered.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer a full range of employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), FMLA, STD, LTD, and COBRA.
  • Assist with new hire orientation, benefits enrollment, and open enrollment activities.
  • Maintain and update benefit records in HRIS systems (UKG preferred), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Serve as a resource for employees on benefits-related inquiries and issues.
  • Support claim resolution processes and vendor communications.
  • Monitor compliance with federal and state laws and internal policies.
  • Track benefit premiums, deferrals, employer matches, and retirement plan loans.
  • Develop and maintain benefits documentation, procedures, and employee-facing resources.
  • Collaborate with payroll, accounting, and HR teams to ensure seamless benefits processing.
  • Participate in audits, special projects, and ongoing improvement of benefits programs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in benefits administration.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems; UKG experience is a strong plus.
  • Understanding of federal and state employment laws and benefits regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and discretion handling sensitive information.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Contract Pay: $30/hour (3-6 month contract)
