Bankruptcy Associate – Join a Leading Regional Law Firm

What You’ll Do:

As a member of the firm’s respected Restructuring, Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice , you’ll play a key role in advising a diverse portfolio of clients including individual and commercial debtors, secured lenders, trustees, landlords, franchisors, developers, municipalities, and more on a broad range of financial restructuring and litigation matters. Your work will span local, regional, national, and international engagements and include:

  • Representing clients in out-of-court restructurings , Chapter 11 proceedings, and complex bankruptcy litigation in state and federal courts
  • Advising both creditors and debtors in high-stakes matters, including asset sales, DIP financing, and enforcement actions
  • Leading negotiations in commercial workouts to avoid bankruptcy and maximize client outcomes
  • Managing claims and creditor rights issues, including PACA, reclamation, 503(b)(9) claims, cash collateral disputes, and fraudulent transfer litigation
  • Participating in a wide variety of roles in bankruptcy cases, including as counsel to unsecured creditors’ committees, equity committees, trustees, and examiners

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in complex bankruptcy or related litigation
  • Admission to practice in New York or Connecticut
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
